TSCRA Special Ranger Marvin Wills, Dist. 15 in Central Texas, reports a black horse missing from a property near Marlin in Falls County since May 30. The 1200-pound gelding is black with 3 white stockings, a star on forehead, and an 8 over A left shoulder brand. TSCRA Special Ranger John Cummings, Dist. 5 in East Oklahoma, reports the theft of a saddle and various tack items from a barn near Claremore in Rogers County. Missing is a double rigged brown leather Billy Cook roping saddle with basket weave tooling, silver Conchos with strings and silver stirrups with oak leaf pattern engraving; a leather basket weave headstall with bit; a Bud Sankey bit; a side pull bit and headstall; rawhide roping reins; a set of split reins; and a black saddle blanket. TSCRA Special Ranger John Cummins, Dist. 5 in eastern Oklahoma, reports the May 13 theft of a truck, utility trailer, zero-turn mower and other landscaping equipment from a property near Collinsville in Rogers County. Stolen was a red 2006 Ford F250 pickup, VIN 1FTNX20516EC17836, license 633DYB; a green RTS brand 77-inch by 12-foot utility trailer, serial no. 46XUT12181M001423; Grasshopper 329 deck zero-turn lawnmower with a 72-inch deck and air-ride seat, serial no. 6317023; Echo edger; Echo blower; and Stihl string trimmer. TSCRA Special Ranger Bart Perrier, Dist. 24 in Oklahoma, reports two cases of missing cattle The first case involves cow and calf missing since April 27 from a pasture near Wilson in Carter County. The cow is black Brangus, weighs approximately 1200 pounds and has a brand of a 0 with a bar through it on the left hip. The unbranded calf is white and weighs approximately 250 pounds. The second case involves 4 first-calf heifers and calves missing since May 15 from a property near Bearden in Okfuskee County. The cows weigh approximately 850 pounds, each, have a JS brand on the left hip and pink numbered ear tags in left ears. Three of the cows are black Angus crosses with black unbranded calves; and the last cow is red with a white star. She has a red calf. TSCRA Hal Dumas, Dist. 21 in East Texas, reports a total of 15 head of cattle missing from two properties in Robertson County. Missing since May 1 are 5 crossbred cows and a Simbrah bull branded with a Circle M or LS on the left hip. The bull also has a “42” number brand. TSCRA Special Ranger Ben Eggleston, Dist. 2 in the Texas Panhandle, reports 10 head of cattle missing after they went estray in the recent late-season snowstorm on the county line between Sherman and Hansford counties, 20 miles northwest of Gruver. The 10 head of mixed-color steers and heifers weigh 700 to 850 pounds, each, and are branded D/C on the left hip. All cattle had red ear tags. TSCRA Special Rangers in Texas and Oklahoma report the theft of 4 head of black Brangus heifers from a property in Stephenville sometime after April 25; and 16 Angus cross cows plus a black Angus bull from a pasture near Blanco in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma. The sound system was also stolen from the livestock market in West on May 10-11.
Law enforcement officials in the East Texas area hit by recent tornadoes are asking ranchers that have lost or found livestock to report these findings to the sheriff after checking with neighbors. Lost or found livestock with brands should also be reported to TSCRA Special Ranger Jimmy Dickson. County agents and sheriff departments also have a list of registered brands for their reference and will assist when possible. Reward offered in Rolling Plains cattle thefts
Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) Special Ranger Scott Williamson and local authorities are seeking information regarding multiple thefts in the Haskell, King, Knox and Baylor County area. Operation Cow Thief, an anti-theft initiative led by TSCRA, is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the crimes.
