TSCRA Special Rangers Harold Dempsey and Dean Bohannon arrested an Oklahoma man on Friday after catching the suspect in the act of stealing cattle from a Dalhart livestock auction. Surveillance on a livestock auction that had been losing cattle revealed Dannie Talcott, 63, of Guymon, loading more cattle from a Dalhart auction than he paid for.

Stacie Laine Soape, 44, of Carthage, was sentenced to 12 years in prison on Monday after pleading guilty to her involvement in the theft of 12 head of cattle and ranching equipment from a Harrison County rancher in 2014. A second person involved in the theft was convicted in a separate trial and received a 35-year sentence on Feb. 18. Two additional suspects await trial in Harrison County
TSCRA Special Ranger Troy McKinney, Dist. 11 in North Texas, reports the theft of 2 saddles from a property in Cooke County near Gainesville. Some time between Feb. 17 and 19 a thief or thieves stole 2 Marty Byrd 14-inch barrel saddles. The had roughout seats and fenders with basketweave skirts and leather-covered horns. Michael Duane Nettles, 32, of Carthage, was sentenced on Thursday to 35 years in prison after a jury trial for his involvement with the Sept. 30, 2014, theft of 12 head of cattle and ranching equipment from a Harrison County rancher.
TSCRA Special Ranger Toney Hurley, Sulphur Springs Police Det. Bo Fox, Lt. Rusty Stillwagoner and Seagoville Police Department authorities arrested Christopher Brandon Garcia, 32, of Balch Springs, and Dustin Kyle Garcia, 33, of Mesquite, on Thursday. The men are suspected to have ties to the theft of numerous all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) from Nortex Tractor in Sulphur Springs. Seven other suspects were arrested in January 2016 in the alleged theft of ATVs in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
