Clinton Easter, 47, of Eastland County, was convicted Jan. 28 of 2 first degree felony cattle theft charges in Coleman County and sentenced to 30 years in prison. He will serve 30 years confinement, concurrently, on each case. Easter had also been charged with similar offenses in Eastland, Comanche and Stephens counties.

Jim Bob Beene, 48, was arrested Jan. 22 and charged with one count of third degree felony theft of livestock in the case of a calf stolen from the Plainview Rodeo Arena. After the arrest was made, the suspect was charged with 2 additional counts of third degree felony theft of livestock after he confessed to stealing other calves from a rancher who runs cattle in Swisher County.
Seven out of a possible 22 suspects accused of participation in an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) theft ring in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma have been arrested on charges of organized criminal activity. TSCRA Special Rangers and local law enforcement authorities have recovered 14 stolen ATVs so far, with more possible. TSCRA Special Ranger Toney Hurley and Sulphur Springs Police Department Sgt. Bo Fox are leading the investigation with assistance from TSCRA Special Rangers Troy McKinney, Wayne Goodman and additional law enforcement departments in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.
