TSCRA Room blocks sold out at two of four headquarters hotels for Cattle Raisers Convention

The room blocks for the Cattle Raisers Convention, March 31 to April 2, San Antonio, are sold out at the La Quinta – Convention Center and the Menger Hotel. Rooms at the special Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) rate are still available at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio and the Westin Riverwalk Hotel, but those blocks are filling up quickly. Convention-goers may still find lodging at the LaQuinta and Menger Hotels at the full price and not at the discounted TSCRA rate. Eminent Domain database ready for public use

The Texas Comptroller’s office has announced the launch of a statewide online eminent domain database. This publicly available tool will show which governmental and non-governmental entities have reported to the comptroller their authority to exercise eminent domain. “This is clearly an area in which transparency is absolutely essential,” Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said. “Knowing who can use eminent domain is the first step to ensuring that this potentially oppressive power is used wisely.” Hegar will be a speaker at TSCRA’s Policy Conference Sept. 28-30 in Austin.
